Our Leaders

The biblical qualifications for leadership put character first.  

This is because church leaders need to lead others by example, 

pointing to Christ by the way we live.  

The role is to equip believers for ministry. The mode is servanthood. 

  • Lucas O'Neill, Senior Pastor

    Lucas received his BA in Bible-Theology from Moody Bible Institute as well his MDiv and ThM from Trinity in Deerfield, IL. While completing his doctorate (DMin, Gordon-Conwell), he began to teach classes and workshops on expositional preaching. His role at CFC is centered on equipping the church for ministry through teaching and shepherding. His wife Tina leads the CFC Kids ministry and they live in Itasca with their four children. 

  • Mark Hochfellner, Associate Pastor

    Mark's ministry focuses on Family Ministries. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and has quickly built a track record of demonstrating a keen ability to equip parents and connect with teens without diluting biblical and theological content. As a gifted preacher he delivers Sunday Sermons several times throughout the year. He works together with Lucas and the Elders in the care and oversight of the church. Mark lives in Elk Grove Village. 

  • Andy ortloff, EElder

    Andy graduated from Northern Illinois University and works as a software engineer for a premier company serving clients in over 100 countries around the world. His father pastored CFC for over 30 years giving Andy a unique perspective on church life and ministry. Andy has served in various roles including Growth Group leader and mentor and currently oversees CFC's finances. His wife Christine works with CFC Kids as well as Fusion. Together they raise their three children in Elk Grove Village. 

  • Bill Soloway, Elder

    Bill received his BS in education from NIU and has worked as a physical education teacher. Aside from his current work as a gymnastics instructor and conditioning coach, Bill has a background in drawing, painting, technical drafting, and martial arts instruction. Bill serves CFC as an Elder, plays on the worship team and assists with Fusion. His wife Jen works with Fusion as well and they have two kids at home in Palatine. 

  • John Lewis, Worship Leader

    John attended Illinois State University and is an Executive Talent Recruiter at Allstate Financial. John has many years of experience playing in bands, performing and recording.  After committing his musical talents exclusively to worship, he has served in various settings as a worship leader. At CFC he works with the worship team to lead the congregation in singing during our Sunday services. John currently resides in Winfield.
