First and foremost, we are Christians. We believe in the faith once for all delivered to the saints. We hold to the ancient, ecumenical creeds that summarize the basic beliefs of all orthodox Christians across all time, such as: The Apostle's Creed, The Nicene Creed, and The Chalcedonian Definition. 

We follow in the footsteps of the Protestant Reformers, who went back to the source of Scripture as the only infallible rule of faith, seeking to reform the church back into conformity with God's  revealed Word. The main tenants of the Reformation are summarized in the "5 Solas": We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone. Though the term "evangelical" has been redefined in more political terms in recent years, we still claim its original theological meaning. Evangelicalism, as a theological position, includes at least these three things: First, the belief that every individual must personally place their faith in Christ and be born again to be saved. Second, the belief that it is the responsibility of every born-again believer to share the good news of Jesus to the lost. And third, the belief in the Bible as the inerrant, highest authority in the believer's life. We happily affirm these three positions as the obvious consequence of true Christian, Protestant faith.

The designation "Reformed" means that we follow not just the Protestant 5 Solas of the Reformation, but also the other theological conclusions that flow out of the work of the original reformers. Chief among these are the Doctrines of Grace, which affirm God's total sovereignty and responsibility for man's salvation, while recognizing that man is still responsible for his own rebellion. Another major Reformed distinctive is Covenant Theology, the belief that the Old and New Testaments comprise one continuous story of God saving his one people through the one Covenant of Grace, and that all of Scripture proclaims Christ.
