The Hallmarks of CFC

We believe the Five Solas of the Reformation clarify the gospel that should be central to the faith and practice of every church. They define the hallmarks of our community.

  • Sola gratia - GRace alone

God reached out to us first, so our lives are lived in thankfulness toward Him. We seek to extend this grace to each other and to all no matter their record of success or failure. We're not a gathering of perfect people. We're a fellowship of forgiven people.

  • Sola Fide - Faith Alone

We are saved through faith that produces works, not faith in conjunction with works. Therefore what we believe determines what we do. We look to keep sound doctrine alive in practical works that show the vitality of our faith. We love with our heads, our hearts, and our hands.

  • Solus Christus - Christ alone

We are a Christ-centered church which means that the gospel is central to everything. We boast in nothing else but the redeeming work that God has accomplished on the cross through Christ. We seek to center every aspect of our lives on the supremacy of Christ.

  • Sola Scriptura - Scripture alone

The Bible is the final and ultimate authority for what to believe and how to live. We interpret Scripture in community with other Spirit-led believers now and across the ages. We work together to understand it well. We work together to live it well.

  • Soli deo Gloria - Glory to God alone

The purpose of all things and every person is to bring glory to God. We seek to live lives that point to His worth, not ours. We treasure God's glory above our own. This is the only way to a joyful and meaningful life regardless of our circumstances.
